Victorian Dolls House.
As part of our fashion course we have been given the chance to create our own retail store. I thought this was a brilliant task! I would love to create my own Store. Our store is called 'The Little Closet', we wanted it to resemble a large Victorian building with reasonably priced clothing with the experience of shopping within an old Victorian building. We also thought about a 'guys area' where they could relax and have a refreshment while their other half shopped. A bar for card holder members only which would be situated above the shop looking down on the clothing.
Gertrude's Opinion - Its like a fun house of fashions!

Giraffe Hair Hat.
When browsing through different hats this season my eye caught this very strange looking one. A hat made of hair,... how very bizzare! I feel there is a strong trend growing with hats resembling animal heads, whether just a small detail like ears or with a full head. I saw a man the other day wearing a full Lions head looking very chuffed with himself that he was wearing the biggest cosiest hat out of the crowd that covered Aberdeen's Union Street.
Gertrude's Opinion - I like cute fluffy animal hats, they keep your head warm. As long as its cute and fluffy, nothing like the above which looks like a recently butchered giraffe. Not a fan. Its Outrageous!!

Worker Boots modelled by Eilidh.
Worker Boots are something which came into Fashion earlier on this year. At first I wasn't very sure of them, they weren't very appealing on the leg and seemed quite ladish. However I did purchase a pair not that long and they have been lifesavers during this cold weather. They are very comfortable and I have had many compliments on them. I love it when you find an item like this which is a key fashion trend as well as being extremely practical and hard wearing.
Gertrude's Opinion - Worker boots..? sorry!...I'm more of a biker girl!

Henri Holland Tights
Tights are slowly becoming more popular during this season, not only because they keep you cosy during this awful British weather but the tights scene has exploded with many colours, patterns and motifs such as New York's Empire State Building, part of the Henri Holland Collection.
Gertrude's Opinion - I think these fancy tights are funky because you don't have to shave your legs or apply fake tan, so its easy for lazy cheap girls like me! It can really dress up a plain outfit. Tights are cheap so you don't have to change your dress every time just change your tights and you have a brand new outfit.

Nail Art is something that is becoming ever more popular. Nail art is something that everyone can achieve, possibly not to the extent shown above. Everyone would like to keep their hands looking good, however for some of us unfortunately in our day to day life it is not possible due to stress or work, or maybe both! Your nails can also make a statement about you, someone who has long nails which are painted everyday suggest the person has an easy lifestyle in comparison with someone who has short bitten nails. I think the nail art above certainly is an 'art' and it looks fabulous!
Gertrude's opinion - " If you can keep them maintained they can look really cool. Im personally too lazy to do my own and they would snap of at work. I think if they are kept neat and tidy and respectable then that fine but if they are chipped it can portray someone as being quite tacky"

Model Lily Cole with her small heart Tattoo on her wrist.
Similar tattoos like this are becoming very fashionable. Tattoos are definitely no longer associated with crazy bikers and sailors. Fashion has taken over the tattoo scene, most young people want a Tattoo to be cool and fit in with the up and coming trend. Many are feeling the need to express their personality and life events through Tattoos. Many people are expressing love through getting their loved ones name tattooed to on them to show their infinitive love.
Gertrude's Opinion - " I like tattoos because it gives people a chance to express their selves. In this day and age people don't always use tattoos to express their selves but for fashion, I find this concerning as fashion is changing all the time and you cant change your tattoo like you change your clothes. If you get it for the right reasons and it means something to you then you cant really go wrong with them I suppose. I wouldn't stop anyone getting a tattoo, its their choice and they are free to decide over the age of 18 whether they want it or not."

Monaco-based Case Scenario has linked up with Pantone so you can have your I-Phone in a range of colours. In their Case Scenario Pantone Universe collection for Fall and Winter 2010-2011. Also the Gold plated I-phone is out now, a very pricey purchase but it certainly looks prestigious.

The characters and voices from Star Wars will now guide you via your GPS - This is an very good idea to make journeys less boring and an inititave idea from Tom Tom.

USB Skype phones have been created to you can have that retro feeling talking to someone of the house phone over the internet! Fantastic Idea!

Cookieboy was born in 1984 in Kyoto and graduated from textile design course at Kyoto. He makes any cookie you request. The internet is such a great place for people to show their talent. Not only can you view these creations but you can buy them and personalise them.
Gertrude's Opinion - " I'm not very technologically minded, I have had the same phone for about 4 years now, its small and it suits me fine. However it is amazing the things people are inventing that make life so much easier, and if it looks cool even better! I like clothes, not gadgets"

Suri Cruise, Cher Llyod and Willow Smith all dressed to the highest degree of the hottest look in children's fashion.
Suri Cruise is a young fashion icon who obviously loves wearing pretty dresses and her styling her hair in pigtails - the way most young girls would love to be dressed everyday. However is it responsible to let a child at the age of 6 to wear shoes with a heel?
Cher Llyod has been someone who has stood out from the croud on the X-factor for weeks, not so much because of her voice but her crazy new trends which aren't what you would describe as easy on the eye but they certainly are quirky and individual showing her personality. She is certainly part of the up and coming young future of fashion. It is all about being yourself, and being out there with your clothing. Lady Gaga has taken this to the extreme with her latest costume which was made of raw meat, however it did get her recognised but possibly for the wrong reasons.
Willow Smith being Will Smiths daughter, similar to Suri Cruise's situation has grown up as a star with the world pre-determing her life. However she is very strong minded and shows a great amount of individuality on talk and radio shows such as the Ellen DeGeneres show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWS8Q7HbCVQ - She believes you have to be yourself otherwise you cannot be happy.
Gertrude's Opinion - " I remember wearing small plastic heels when I was younger, but they were kept in my dressing up box, they were not something I was allowed to wear everyday as I was a child, still growing. I do not think it is at all responsible of the parents whoever they are! Being a child is about having fun. I like Willow Smith as she is still a child at heart, her clothes are still young and funky. Making a child look like an adult,... I personally think it portraying the wrong image to other children and parents who will follow in the footsteps of their idols. It makes me very apprehensive of coming generations"

Kate Middleton here pulling off the country chic look with her tweeds on looking very respectable.
Country Chic has definitely made an impact on the Fashion world this year. Items such as 'Hunter' wellies which used to be a necessity for living in the country are now selling for three times more as a major fashion item, worn by celebrities such as Kate Moss and the Oslen twins. Other items such as Barbour jackets and Tweed Jackets have been huge Fashion garments. I love to see fashion out in the country. Farming and livestock workers can now join in with fashion, where as before the hunter wellies the quilted jackets were a must to keep warm and dry.
Gertrude's Opinion - "Hunter, Barbour and other brands are very practical with the recent weather which has been out of control!! The way I feel about the whole matter is that basically have to own a country manor to afford these garments! It is getting quite ridiculous, if I were to buy a fake one without the Barbour Label I would very much so be putting my social status in jeopardy. I frankly find it quite pathetic, fashion is supposed to be about being yourself, not being a fashion cut out of someone else!"

Hey!! :)
Just a small paragraph to introduce myself and give you my thoughts on what my new fashion blog is all about! :)
I have never written a blog before although I have always liked the idea of having an online diary to release my thoughts about day to day inquests! My Fashion Management course has prompted me to create a Fashion blog.
I'm interested in Fashion in many different forms. Fashion is not just about the way you dress. It involves who you are, who you want to portray along with your lifestyle and personality.
I'm going to talk about information regarding fashion in many different shapes and sizes.
